State Sen. Jim Oberweis and Doug Truax are vying to win the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin in November. But since his first election to the U.S. Senate in 1996, Durbin has won reelection twice in landslides.

The Oberweis/Truax primary and the winner’s chances in November are the subjects of this week’s “Spin Cycle.”
