Which school districts spend the most money per pupil?

Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education releases its Report Card on Illinois education, which provides data for individual schools, districts and counties across a number of categories — average class size, enrollment numbers, average test scores and so on.

We took a look at which schools spend the most on operational expenses per pupil. This number takes into consideration a number of different things that school districts pay for in order to keep their schools up and running, like transportation costs, instructional costs and student resources. The average operational expense per pupil in Illinois was $11,841.53….
