Amid budget impasse, Eastern Illinois University president seeks to ease students' worries in letter

(Editor’s note: The letter below from Eastern Illinois University President David Glassman was sent via email to students and their families on Feb. 22. Like other public universities in Illinois, Eastern has received no state funding since July 1 due to the state budget impasse. Glassman notes that Eastern expects to receive about $40 million in operational funding and $7-$9 million in student tuition aid through the state’s Monetary Awards Program grants.)
