GOP makes pre-emptive strikes vs. J.B. Pritzker, Chris Kennedy

The Illinois Republican Party is wasting no time in preparing for the 2018 gubernatorial election.

This week it launched a pre-emptive robocall attack against Chicago businessman J.B. Pritzker, who is believed to be weighing a challenge to Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. Also targeted was Chris Kennedy, the son of Robert F. Kennedy and another likely contender for the Democratic nomination to take on Rauner.

Why the early attacks? Because these two candidates, especially the billionaire Pritzker, could take on the wealthy Rauner dollar-for-dollar in an election that could be decided by voters in heavily Democratic Chicago. That’s our topic on this…
